few quick thoughts on election results

i have been updating my election result post (where everything one needs to know is presented in one page) as results come in. remaining results will be updated as they become available. hopefully thousands of visitors there, both yesterday and today so far, did find it useful.

as of now according to reasonable speculation (find the full calculation here) upfa is going to get 143+ seats.

results are in line with what i expected before the polls.

ppl have spoken, in a turnout that is high relative to any other democracy (unsupported claims of low turnout comes from losers and/or ppl with pro terrorist agendas). it is now up to all those who respect democracy to accept it and work accordingly.

results are yet another indication that sri lankans are embracing and endorsing the new independent, proud, confident, sri lankan identity and mindset which started to assert itself felt few years ago, with enthusiasm.

they are definitely rejecting, appeasement driven peacenik, dependent on west , subservient attitudes of born slaves here.

unp
as i said several times before, if unp (which did not win even one district) wants to be credible, it has to embrace the new sri lakan reality and attitudes instead of attitudes of a few ppl in colombo. it must publicly dump both policies and ppl who advocated appeasement of terrorists (note both). with a new leadership, it must show that it is sincerely appreciative of glorious victory over terrorists which ensured human rights, freedom, democracy and justice (not to mention physical safety) for all sri lankans. it can differentiate itself from, vaguely left of center upfa, through economic policies, if unp start advocating free markets and private enterprise.

meanwhile the results of the outraged 'aesthetic' senses of that fringe of sri lankan society, the narrow minded slavish english thinking pseudo elite of colombo (which however provide a large number, and until recently constituted a majority,of sl bloggers) will be entertaining to read and watch. sanjana hattotuwa's groundviews for example, has already started vomiting. lol.

stance about military defeat of ltte terrorists should and would define politics for a generation

indi padashow samarajiva before he got a job as part of a backfired akon publicity stunt and devoted his blog for that, wrote "i really hope that the war isn’t, like, our vietnam. as in, something that defines and defines politics forever. ..."

so typical of the clueless one to take another false analogy from history of usa. before the tamil tiger murderers got defeated he was repeatedly saying that sri lanka will not defeat the terrorists through military means and sri lanka government was only conquering territory, comparing fight against terrorists here to american efforts in iraq(which he thought was failing) and vietnam.

he stuck to it when it was pointed out by me (before he started censoring me) that many countries, ranging from indonesia to peru to turkey to algeria, have in fact successfully defeated terrorists and guerrillas (only difference from groups defeated in those countries; ltte was larger and more vile).

this happened several times in indi.ca and other blogs. search there.

likes of indi padashow (lot of them in kottu cocoon) seem to be stuck in a box with only american frame of references. (or more correctly liberal american frame of references); resulting in a narrow minded and uneducated worldview.

if anyone want to compare the military defeat of ltte to anything in american history, it should be to american civil war (1861-1865). even there the analogy fails. south aka confederate states of america, in that war was more than a mere armed criminal gang as ltte was.

[btw did you know what indi padashow and ilk know but fail to mention in their american analogies while criticizing present sri lankan government? that during civil war abraham lincoln suspended habeas corpus, imprisoned thousands of ppl for suspicion without trial, violated constitution when he spent money as he wanted against the wishes of congress, etc. etc. i think i will keep that unmentioned comparison to another post]

anyway back to the topic.

should various stands about militarily defeating ltte terrorists define sri lankan politics for another generation?

yes.

why?
quite simply, bc politicians' stances reveal their character.

anyone who opposed military defeat of ltte bc they thought it cannot be done, displayed a lack of judgment and proved themselves unpragmatic dreamers. should voters consider that? yes.

anyone who preferred appeasement of terrorists to defeating them were worse. they chose an immoral course of action, they preferred to sacrifice rights, justice, freedom, democracy, and even lives, of sri lankans for a unsustainable 'peace'. should voters consider that? you bet!

unrepentant ppl in above to two categories should not be (and imo would not be) allowed to hold real power in sri lanka.

however opposite is not true. ppl who believed and even contributed to defeating terrorists shouldn't and wouldn't necessarily get real power automatically. that depends on other matters. a misconception about this point is what led some clueless idiots (and some foreign reporters too lazy to think and find out truth) to propagate the myth that those who appreciate victory over terrorist (racists termed these 'sinhalese') will split their votes more or less equally between mahinda rajapaksa and sarath foneska. election results vindicated my refutation of this myth.

iow a politician's stand on military defeat of terrorists is a basic qualification of entry. if you did not support it and is still unrepentant you have no chance, but supporting it does not mean you will get the job. imo this will be true for a generation.

of course even politicians without that qualification will get elected (esp due to probational representation) but they will not get real power. ppl who openly repent their opposition to military defeat of ltte may get through to real power, though their earlier stand will always be a rightful part of their opponents' arsenal.

to give a concrete example. present ranil wickremasinghe led unp leadership will not get real power. second or third tier of unp (say sajith premadasa) do have a chance once they can get rid of present leadership and publicly and officially renounce unp's peacenik stance.

to conclude, if you want a successful career in sri lankan politics in the next 20-30 years make sure to check you were in the right side about defeating terrorists.

too bad (or i should say too good) that former political appointee rohan samarajiva's patrons are in the wrong side and are unrepentant. no wonder his son, who is still living off his parents, don't want this issue to define politics.

will i get attacked through second hand blogs (which i have never advocated banning btw) for this post too. lol.

un secretary general ban ki-moon's latest attempted interference in sri lanka

united nations secretory general ban ki moon is engaged in an effort to interfere in sri lanka, again.

why?
bc he thinks there should be 'accountability' for alleged human rights violations and 'war crimes', wants 'reconciliation'. etc

problem with his stated motives is that he seems to be hypocritically and willfully blind to the fact that he is violating law, un principles, and human rights, by his actions. nor is this the first time.

you cannot ask for lawful accountability from sri lanka when you are exceeding your legal mandate.

un secretary general is trying to appoint an arbitrary 'expert panel' to advise him on action to be taken about sri lanka. by exceeding the powers and violating the charter of united nations, which does not allow him to interfere in internal affairs of member nations, he is violating our, sri lankans, political and legal rights as members of a sovereign democracy.

if there were human rights violations and war crimes there are legal channels to seek justice and present evidence.

sri lankan courts, including the supreme court, are accessible. if the courts here are refusing to hear cases with credible evidence or dismissing cases out of hand arbitrarily, there may be a point, but no such thing has happened. fact is ppl who claim human rights violations, etc occurred here are unable to make and present a credible case with judicially acceptable evidence. that is no excuse to treat sri lankan legal system with contempt or bypass it.

there is also the united nations human rights council, if there are any concerns about human rights situation in sri lanka, they should be raised through that body and not through some arbitrary panel convened at the personal whim of ban ki moon. but he knows that an attempt to pass a resolution against sl in unhrc failed, with good reason.

in other words, un sec.gen. is refusing to accept judgments of legal bodies and trying to impose his personal judgment arbitrarily.

that is a violation of law and our rights. all those sri lankans who want our rights respected should condemn his actions.

there is also the question of double standards, why is ban ki moon not acting similarly with regard to alleged human rights violations in iraq and afghanistan committed by united states, united kingdom and other western powers? so far this question continues to stay unanswered. anyone who support ban ki moon's actions on sri lanka or refuse to condemn them must answer it. otherwise they are simply racist hypocrites and slaves of west.

as for ban ki moon and some of his subordinates, their past actions have shown that they are no friends of sri lankans and not interested in securing rights, justice, democracy, and freedom ( indeed even our lives) to us. remember he wanted to us to declare a ceasefire in order to save our murderers; ltte terrorist pussies. as i said then, anyone who did that is no friend of sri lanka. nor does anyone, who called for such a ceasefire on that moment, have any moral right to pass any kind of judgment on any action of ours.

he and his subordinates are acting thus because they are suffering from racist misconception that ltte terrorists and their supporters are representatives of tamils and that 'ethnic grievances' caused ltte terrorism (by that perverted logic un should act to ban prison terms for thieves bc they probably think theft is a result of poverty etc. lol). this became very clear when he asked us not to celebrate the defeat of armed criminal gang ltte.

anyway, all those who want law and our rights respected should condemn ban ki moon and his actions with regard to sri lanka.

especially, all those sri lankans who vociferously claim to be interested in preserving human rights and rule of law in sri lanka, must do so. if they don't they should defend why they don't. silence in the face of such a violation of our rights is not an option.

i will predict that ppl who support ban ki moon or stay silent will be the same ppl who openly adapted immoral peacenik position (and their fellow travelers) during effort to defeat terrorists. their mindset is inherently slavish and corrupt and/or they depend on their western financed ngo salaries and benefits too much. they did not act according on their professed principles then and will not do so now.

i will be watching reactions of their underlings in sri lankan blogosphere. will they too stay true to their inherited despicable and hypocritical characters and stay silent while rights of sri lankans are violated? will their slavishness extend to supporting such violations?

sri lanka the truly independent

sri lanka is free.

free of terrorists. free of foreign of interference.

we defeated evil time and again.

we refused to pay the price of human rights, freedom, justice, and democracy, to get 'peace' with evil, even when interfering foreigners wanted us to. we rejected with contempt cynical attempt to fool us.

we did the 'impossible'.

we will glorify that and celebrate that with pride.

to remain free
we will remain free as long as democratic wishes of ppl who supported the great effort to defeat evil, rules.

we will remain free as long as those who sacrificed are remembered and honored with pride.

we will remain as long as we reject the rule of unrepentant supporters of murderous terrorists, corrupt peaceniks who wanted us to appease terrorists, cowards who chose to do nothing running from responsibility, and slaves working on behalf of foreigners.

to future!

today the good will unite to defeat the evil; vote and contribute

"all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
that is a often used alleged quote from edmund burke, 'father of modern conservatism'. in fact the quote is probably a derivative of what he actually wrote,
"when bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."
either way idea is clear.

today sri lanka holds its 6th presidential elections. evil men have combined in an unholy alliance, will the good unite to defeat them? imo they will. resoundingly.

we have done that in the past.

in late 80s, jvp terrorists did not want us to vote and threatened to kill those who voted first. this was a real threat since they killed ppl who engaged in campaigning. but most sri lankans disregarded that threat and defeated the evil. fact that i, too young to vote, accompanied my mother to voting center as she voted first there (as usual) while bodies burned 200m from it, will always remain a proud highlight of my life.

we, sri lankans defeated evil tamil tiger (ltte) terrorists too. we refused to pay the price of human rights, freedom, justice, and democracy, to get 'peace' from the pussies. many sri lankans paid with lives and limbs to do so.

now we have another chance defeat the same evil. and i am sure we will do so again.

in each case some ppl did nothing, some wanted to appease evil, some united with evil.

while main evil was defeated, these do nothing cowards, appeasing peaceniks, and unrepentant supporters of terrorists, have united in using bitter vindictiveness of one of the ppl who contributed to their defeat, sarath fonseka, for their own cynical ends. (some hope to revive terrorists' racist ideology and thereby terrorists, some merely to remain as leader of a degenerate opposition, etc )

will they succeed? no

in spite of their attempt to create illusion of a close contest using manipulated result projections, or absurd racist myths they will lose big.

ppl who appreciate the victory over terrorists (cynically branded as 'sinhala' by racist myth creators) will not be fooled by mere fielding of a candidate who contributed to that victory (his authenticity was undermined by his biggest problem, his own supporters). ppl who do not appreciate the victory over terrorists (cynically branded as 'tamil' by racists) will not decide the election.

election results should and would make it clear that anyone who belong to, or accepts the support of, unrepentant evil doers, peacenik appeasers, or cowardly do nothings, will not be tolerated by sri lankans in position of political power.

make your contribution. go vote to defeat the evil.

election myths - 'sinhala' votes will split, 'tamil' votes will decide

as soon as sarath fonseka announced he was running against mahinda rajapaksa for presidency, some people started claiming that 'sinhala' votes will be split down the middle between them and the candidate who gets the 'tamil' vote will be the winner. they are still repeating it.

we will examine this claim closely, and show it to be a result of pure imagination with no basis in reality; a myth. in fact a racist myth.

-
before examining it, we have to see who is making this claim, for our greater understanding.

if you look closely, you will see that it originates from unp/sf propagandists, ngo peaceniks, and/or ltte terrorist supporters (some ppl are all three at once). they have an interest in making this claim bc it is one of the methods by which they try to create the impression that the election is competitive, when in fact it was clear from the start that mr is going to win by a big margin. iow, this falls in to same category as the manipulated self created election projections and and fake polls going round. no surprise then that in the sl blogosphere it is indi.padashow (owner of indi.ca and padashow blogs, sunday leader columnist, son of a former political appointee, and person who ran unp's online campaign in 2005, etc.) and ppl of same ilk who are spreading this lie.

this is also repeated by some foreign reporters. reporters with a sloppy substandard work ethic prefer to confine their sources of information to cocooned pseudo elite class in sri lanka (sort of ppl who think in english and believe that makes them 'better' than other sri lankans). some of these reporters and their employers have tamil diaspora in west as a market for their content. given that racist ltte supporters are driving the conversation among diaspora the content providers catering for that market develop a bias for same attitudes. we saw that during military operations, we see that today. unquestioning acceptance and spreading of this myth by these media outlets is another good example of this bias.

corrupt ngo bigwigs like chris patten of international crisis group, frustrated that their support for our murderers did not bear fruit, will repeat it as a matter of course.

now if this is a myth, they will have egg on their faces on 27th. not that such shameless ppl will care.

same ppl, ltte supporters, peaceniks, unp leadership and propagandists, same foreign reporters and media outlets, and moronic bigwigs at international organizations (and of course sl bloggers who take their lead from those groups) got it wrong before (predicting ltte terrorists will not be defeated).

now as then, accepting racist myths as real will lead to same results.

-
now we will examine the claim in detail.

the claim betray the tendency see and interpret everything is sri lanka primarily and simply on ethnic terms, when reality sri lanka is more complex. as such i call it racist. above mentioned groups always commit this error.

let me be clear, mere categorization of voters as 'tamil', 'sinhala', 'muslim' etc, for analysis does not make it racist.

however assuming that vast majority of voters of a particular ethnic group make decisions based primary in their 'race' interests is racist. yes some ethnic groups in world history may have behaved like that, but it is rare, very. so before assuming any such thing the one who makes it must show the evidence of such a thing happening.

'sinhala' votes will split claim
cliam: 'sinhala' votes will split bc 'sinhalese' wanted the tamil tiger ltte terrorists defeated. as such when two 'war heroes' are contesting sinhalese will split their votes more or less evenly.

equivalent of a 'wtf!' would be the reaction of most sri lankans to this absurd logic.

i will break this claim down further into implicit/explicit sub claims.

claim: 'only 'sinhala' ppl wanted terrorists defeated'.

of course not.

everyone who respects life, human rights, freedom, justice, and democracy, wanted them defeated. anyone who really loves sri lanka wanted them defeated. and such ppl were certainly not confined to sinhalese.

claim: 'sinhalese' wanted ltte defeated bc it was an ethnic conflict between sinhala military and tamil ltte.

again no .

majority of sinhalese did not want ltte terrorists defeated bc of racist motives. sinhalese just like the rest of sri lankans wanted the murderers defeated to prevent them from killing, maiming, threatening, and oppressing, sri lankans (including themselves). they wanted a peaceful united sri lanka.

to equate ltte with tamils is simply racist.

vast majority of sinhalese, like most sri lankans, simply did not appreciate being terrorized and blackmailed into making concessions to an armed criminal gang, for decades.

claim: each candidate's responsibility/credit for the victory over terrorists will be the primary motivating factor for 'sinhalese' vote.

now if we replace word 'sinhalese' with more accurate (due to reasons explained above ) 'all sri lankans who value victory over terrorists' to get rid of racism, we get a modified claim

modified claim: each candidate's responsibility/credit for the victory over terrorists will be the primary motivating factor for all sri lankans who value victory over terrorists'

still wrong.

it is true that if one of them has been a person who has not contributed anything or even been a hindrance to defeating terrorists (ie ranil wickremesinghe) that factor would have played a major part in decision of the voter not to vote for him. basically anyone who was a peacenik and was weak in face of terrorist murderers is not acceptable to sri lankans.

but that does not mean, without such a contrast, sri lankans who wanted ltte defeated will split their votes more or less equally between candidates who did make a contribution.

far from it.

they will look at other factors and other issues. they will look at each candidate's polices, and their supporters (and why such support is extended). they will look at their personalities. they will observe what they say and how they behave. they will evaluate the propaganda of campaigns. voters will also take in to account traditional patronage relationships and loyalties.

individual voters will weigh all these factors according to their selfish interests and then decide (in most cases this will happen subconsciously). that is how voters in all democracies behave. and that is how it will happen here.

to disregard all this, and predict the voting decision, based solely on a decision about who gets credit for defeating terrorists, is foolish.

related to this, to claim that if both candidates contributed similarly to war effort, they will get more or less equal vote shares is also false and foolish.

btw voter are knowledgeable enough to know that one had greater responsibility by definition. (but as i said credit for war victory alone will not be the main motivating factor)

now for the other main part of the claim.

claim: 'tamil' votes will decide

no they won't

for anyone to claim that tamils (meaning sri lankan tamils) are a uniform group having common interests that will swing vast majority of them to one or other candidates is unrealistic. certainly racists ideologues of terrorist ltte claimed they did have such interests. they also claimed to be the sole representative of tamils and their interests. but they had to enforce that false claim by killing other tamils (with different ideas) by the thousands. that claim has no more validity than claims of hitler about germans .

tamils, like other sri lankans described above, will consider many factors before voting.

of course their experience of terrorist oppression and military operations to defeat terrorists was more personal than most sri lankans'. some were victims of military due to accidents or due to ltte using them as human shields. some may have been willing or unwilling collaborators of ltte's fascist regime. some may have had ltte cadres in family. so there maybe tamils who are less appreciative of efforts to defeat terrorists and feel an antipathy towards those who led that effort. but is that common to all tamils? no. even with those who feel that way, will the reactions at elections due to these factors be uniform? again no.

tamil voters' decision, again as with others described above, will depend on various factors, personality of the each individual voter, and their experiences . it is foolish to generalize theirs reactions.

after removing racist prejudices about ethnic groups we can state the original claim differently.

modified claim: votes of those who appreciate the victory over terrorists will split due to both candidates being war heroes, as such those who did not appreciate it will decide the elections.

while not offensive bc it is not racist, even this modified claim is still wrong and even absurd.

it assumes that those who appreciate the victory will split (more or less evenly), while those who do not appreciate it will not split.

that is irrational.

in fact, due to ppl weighing lots factors as described above, both groups will split. imo they will split unevenly. in fact any public indication that one group is trending one way will most likely create an opposite trend in other group.

iow, the claim is a myth. on all levels.

-
some speculations based on what we examined

now imo most of those other factors that voter will weigh will favor mahinda rajapaksa. that was obvious from provincial polls last year when his party got close to 70% votes. nothing has happened to those factors. so to begin with both groups were probably split in favor of mr.

as i predicted sf's lack a political organization forced him to inevitable mistakes (accepting conditional support of unp, jvp and others) and then he committed an avoidable mistake by accepting conditional support of unrepentant former ltte puppets in tna/itak, probably under the false impressions that 'tamils will decide' and tna represents tamils. iow, his biggest political problem got bigger due to his own actions.

if there is a trend favoring sf in the camp of those who didn't like to see ltte defeated due to some peaceniks and unrepentant ltte supporters extending him support, an opposite trend has started (and is encouraged by mr propagandists) among sri lankans who did like to see ltte defeated and want to prevent ltte supporters and appeasers regaining power.

in any case, the ppl who don't like the victory over terrorists are a much much smaller group than those who celebrate that victory. as such even in the unlikely event of first group favoring sf 100%, whole of that support is unlikely to cover the gap between him and mr in second group.

due to all these reasons, and contrary to above myth, mahinda will win, by a big margin. my prediction as before.

all this is speculation. but speculations of a person who lives in reality and depends on reason, rather than on racist myths.

ps
btw here is a small myth test for regular bloggers and their readers.

if those who appreciate ltte's defeat are evenly split as claimed by the myth, why is it that all the bloggers who were in support of military defeat of ltte during the operations are now supporting mr?

if there is a split, it is among bloggers who were opposed to military operations, who are now either supporting sf, mr, or writing silly cliché ridden posts agonizing whether to vote or not to vote.

any one who called for a ceasefire has no right to judge us now

any one who called for a ceasefire with terrorist tamil tiger murderers, during death throes of those pussies, has no moral right to judge us or even investigate us, sri lankans.

they have already shown themselves to be biased against sri lankans.
by calling for a ceasefire at that moment, as i said then, they tried to deny us our right to life, and tried to deny us access to human rights, freedom, democracy and justice. they showed themselves to be pro terrorists, only interested in saving their friends the murderous ltte. they did this due to corruption, racism, and/or political pandering to racists.

these include some ppl in united nations, some western politicians and media (esp. in uk) and of course peacenik slaves here.

now these same hate mongers, rabid at their failure to save the murderers, are involved in yet another attempt to justify terrorist's hate networks abroad and revive the dead murderers here, by calling for investigations (and typically passing "judgments" at the same time).

even at face value, their statements then and now are hypocritical, unless they had already called for ceasefires, passed judgments, and called for investigations, of west's war against its terrorist enemies. (esp. since unlike here most of them are not facing an immediate death threats as we face as long as ltte exists). none of them have, done any of that certainly not with the racist keenness they now show about sri lanka.

but we should not stop at pointing out the all too obvious hypocrisy of what they say.
bc they are also slandering sri lanka. they have yet to substantiate any of the claims they throw out (esp. about the wildly varying number for casualties). all of their claims are based solely on terrorist propaganda (in fact, terrorist propaganda based in foreign countries). when asked to substantiate, they have nothing to show. nothing! when someone accuses innocent ppl of atrocities without evidence, that itself is a crime. these ppl should be exposed in their acts, and should not be forgiven until they are held accountable for what they said and are saying now.

it is telling that same ppl are yet to condemn (or even to report, in the case of racist british media, that have been so keen to investigate us ) the almost daily hate attacks on sri lankans by terrorist supporters in western countries, where there is a total lack of investigations or preventive measures against such attacks. by making false claims mentioned above, and giving false figures, these ppl are encouraging and justifying those hate attacks and lack of action against them.

we should challenge their slanders wherever we find them, aggressively.

we won the military victory against terrorists by sticking to and not backing down from the morally justifiable path, even when these hypocrites were pressuring us to do otherwise. we should not, and will not, allow same hypocrites to judge and/or investigate us now.

only ppl who wholeheartedly supported us in our war against criminal terrorists has any right to judge us.

when will peacenik hypocrites unconditionally condemn racist pro terrorist anti sri lankan violence and protests in west?

i wrote about the recent increase in racist attacks and protests against sri lankans by pro terrorists in west, yesterday, before the news of the day overwhelmed it; asking that western governments immediately take measures, to protect sri lankans in their countries, prevent attacks, and arrest and prosecute those responsible (which they have not done in spite of video evidence in some cases)
read it

as horror of latest acid attack by pro terrorist racists in australia (which could leave one person blind and disfigured) emerge, all those who are anti racist, anti terrorist, and pro real peace, must speak out against them. now!

this post is specifically addressed to sri lankan peaceniks (bloggers esp included) and ngos, esp those who were inaccurately claiming that there is 'a culture of impunity' in sri lanka. in fact as the ignoble death of mass murdering terrorist pussy velupillai prabhakaran proved ppl are being held accountable (typically irrational peaceniks of course do not like this too) .

these peaceniks should condemn those racist hate mongering attacks, and protests that encourage those attacks, of pro terrorists, unconditionally. they should condemn those governments for their inaction and 'culture of impunity' (regardless of how much those governments contribute to their ngos).

hypocrites in amnesty international and human rights watch and other such ingos which were so ready to condemn sri lanka of all sort of things with no evidence, should also condemn these protests, attacks, and governments, unconditionally, if they want to retain any credibility.

will they do that? will they have the backbone to stand up for human rights, justice, freedom, and democracy, for once ?

or will they look the other way
as they did when terrorists were killing innocents here? (blindly recommending appeasement of murderers or evading the reality of terror in typical intellectually dishonest fashion.)

we will see.

and we will hold them accountable esp the peacenik bloggers who live in those countries where such attacks and protests happen.

congress winning big in india. good for sri lanka, bad for racists, peaceniks, and terrorists

as results of indian election comes in, it is clear that congress and its allies (united progressive alliance, upa) are winning big, contrary to predictions that that there will not be a clear mandate. (core of upa excluding some who left just before election, has won or leading in 255 odd seats out of 543. this core, which was in government with help from other parties and mps, had about 200 seats in outgoing lok sabha)

this is good for india and good for sri lankans who prefer a terrorist free state .

why?
bc due to the size of the win, next indian central government will not be held hostage by regional parties, such as those in tamil nadu.

during the election these primarily racist parties in tamil nadu vied with each other in an effort to save ltte terrorist pussies from the complete defeat they are facing in sri lanka. jayalalitha of aiadmk was the worst of the major tamil polticos (that a living joke like her is a major politico in tamil nadu says a lot); promising to even invade sri lanka. well results in tamil nadu show that the issue had no impact on the election. aiadmk is losing. candidates from congress itself (probably the least racist) and its allies in upa, dmk (only a very slight improvement on aiadmk) are winning. it is clear that tn tamils are not racists even if their political leaders are.

in any case overall result means a stronger indian government able to think about indian interests, not just political interests of a few racists in tamil nadu. indian interests dictate that sri lanka have stability, free of terrorists. that is why even the previous indian government did not interfere here in any major way ( up to the time of electioneering when it indulged in few token gestures to pander to racists in tamil nadu )

to conclude, a strong central government in india is good for peace loving sri lankans hoping for a terrorist free state and bad for terrorists and peaceniks (both racist by definition) hoping for a fake peace achieved through appeasement of terrorists. indians have decided they want a stronger center. good for them and us.

ps
it was telling that before the election, indian media rightly saw racist antics in tamil nadu as mere hot air. in contrast some international media ( particularly racists in britian) highlighted them. in typical irrational fashion of propagandists they used that and racist tamil protests in some western countries to raise the profile of the issue. in order to force a ceasefire on sri lanka and save terrorists ( the ultimate aim of racists at this point) .

pps.
free market polices will continue and probably expand in india. communists and other leftists were also dealt a mauling. good

independence day

as readers know i don't refer much to patriotism in this blog. for instance my arguments for defeating terrorist pussies (with violence if needs be) are based not on patriotism but on preserving human rights, freedom, justice, and democracy. ( in contrast , peaceniks believe peace is worth any cost, even cost of human rights, freedom, justice, and democracy.)

however that does not mean i oppose patriotism.

we should and can be justly proud of our country especially after what happened during last year in the fight against terrorists. so let us fly the flag and give thanks to the military today.

international "human rights" ngo peacenik clarence dias arrested for child porn

clarence dias, 65, president of the international center for law in development, whose offices are located at the un, was arrested with child porn at jfk airport in new york while on his way to thailand.

when it comes sri lanka this hypocrite was a typical thorough going peacenik. as such, i (who think that only immoral sleazebags and/or naive idiots can be peaceniks) for one, am not surprised that he was a criminal just like other prominent ngo peaceniks.

he played a part in defeating election of sri lanka to human rights council. among other things, this moron signed an appeal to un members that urged rejection of sri lanka's bid. following slanderous quote is from that appeal.

Don’t vote for Sri Lanka: A vote for Sri Lanka is a vote for disappearances, widespread torture, extra-judicial killings and impunity. It is a vote to undermine the Human Rights Council and therefore a vote against victims of human rights the world over. We who work directly with victims urge you in the strongest possible terms to take this opportunity to show your government’s support for present and potential victims of human rights, as well as support for the Human Rights Council. The rejection of Sri Lanka’s bid would strengthen the Council, shielding it from those that seek to misuse it at the cost of many lives. Local, regional and international NGOs are united in calling on you to resoundingly reject this year’s worst candidate.
Don’t vote for Sri Lanka
of course he and his fellow signatories had no evidence to support his slander against sri lankan government. may be he was too absorbed in researching child porn ( his excuse when arrested) when he visited sri lanka (which he has done) to find the evidence.

sunday post - amazing dance video

via chinese cctv and godtube (surprising combination there too).

if you fail to cry watching this, you are an inhuman moron, like indi.ca/padashow and peaceniks.

-
btw last part of above sentence and what follows(while true) were especially added, in true sunday spirit, to stoke the rather deficient self worth of excrement throwing limp dic...sorry benevolent dictator. it aims to validate his superficial stylistic critique of my last post (he of course cannot attempt a substantive critique given the factual accuracy and honesty of my post).

my blog is open and uncensored esp to criticism and rely solely on written word to articulate my opinions, unlike benevolent dictator's, indi.ca and almost all peacenik blogs, which in true dictatorial fashion, try to close off opposing opinions through not providing links to source, not publishing or censoring comments, and variety of dirty tactics.

that is why you find the link to his critique here, while you will not find a link to my post there even though it is the basis of that critique. (warning to those who click on his link: his post stinks due to all the excrement throwing he indulges in. so much so indi (and one or two of his cronies) went sniffing, as usual attracted to the smell . myself forced to defend, had to hold the nose while there).

ravi karunanayake's idiocy on video.

watch this (30 sec) from sinhahada's youtube channel. check comments there and rate it.

when will unp learn that denigrating military action against a bunch of murderous criminals ( and that is all ltte pussy terrorists are) is immoral, and naive, and thus in any democracy will lead to electoral disaster?
not yet it seems.

but the time is running out. it wont do to change unp's mind after ltte has lost all its territories. there would be plenty of videos like this to use in campaign ads. and they should be used.

peacenik position as advocated by such criminals as paikiasothy saravanamuttu, jehan perera, jayadeva uyangoda, sunila abeysekera, sunanda deshapriya, sunila abeysekera, nimalka fernando, rohan edirisinha, jeevan thiagarajaha, and their ilk (and their underlings like sanjana hattotuwa) is that "peace" with ltte is worth any cost even the cost of justice, freedom , human rights and democracy.
that position is not justifiable on neither moral grounds nor realistic grounds. sri lankan voters know this. unp better learn it quick.

unp if it wants to win elections must denounce peacnik position in no uncertain terms (this would only be credible under a new leader). for effect, it should make a public example of next ngo peacenik who opens his or her mouth on behalf of peace with ltte.

too bad! that is not likely to happen.

indians again reminded of consequences of coddling terrorists and their supporters

last night’s terrorists attacks should remind indians and their government that tolerating terrorists ( and their supporters) of any nationality will backfire on them.

unfortunately in spite of what happened to rajeev gandhi, but it is clear that current racist tamil nadu government in particular need such reminding, given their demands to intervene in sri lanka on behalf of ltte terrorists pussies during last month or two. though the indian central government acted wisely for most part it could have been more forceful and less politically tolerant in its response to tamil nadu governments idiotic demands. (as for tamil film actors etc. who engaged in various moronic forms of grandstanding on the issue, they only showed that idiocy of most of their films flow directly from their own low iqs)

india should implement a zero tolerance policy on all terrorists. that is in their interest, and that is also the most moral and pragmatic thing to do.

ps
sri lankan government should document the actions of racist ngo peacenik criminals (that is people like paikiasothy saravanamuttu, jehan perera, jayadeva uyangoda, sunila abeysekera, sunanda deshapriya, sunila abeysekera, nimalka fernando, rohan edirisinha, jeevan thiagarajaha, and their ilk (and their underlings like sanjana hattotuwa)) during tamil nadu terrorist supporters’ demands for intervention in sri lanka. this collaboration with foreigners to coerce sri lanka amount to treachery and should be added to their ever growing list of treacheries. human rights violations, and others crimes. they should and will answer for their crimes appropriately, let us make sure.

congrats to sri lankan militray, sri lanka, and all those who value democracy and human rights

sri lanka opened a land route to jaffna yesterday. this is a great victory to those who value human rights, democracy, freedom and justice. and to all patriots ( though i generally avoid appeals to patriotism here bc of definition problems i do not find anything wrong in it)
it is also a great defeat to terrorists and their ngo peacenik helpers and propagandists who want to appease terrorists to get “peace” ( and to maintain their corrupt lifestyles by serving murderers) by sacrificing millions of fellow sri lankans too ltte pussy oppression.

by ngo peacenik helpers i mean these racist human rights violating criminals like paikiasothy saravanamuttu, jehan perera, jayadeva uyangoda, sunila abeysekera, sunanda deshapriya, sunila abeysekera, nimalka fernando, rohan edirisinha, jeevan thiagarajaha, and their ilk (and their underlings like sanjana hattotuwa, as well as certain hypocrites in the sri lankan blogosphere like indi.ca/padashow blogger, son of a corrupt former political appointee who allegedly benefited greatly when ltte imported broadcast equipment and he did not do his job as a regulator).
expect indi.ca and disgusting homophobe hattotuwa’s groundviews blog to get fired up insult military and sri lanka, as they have been doing all along.

some thoughts on remembering and writing about black july

it is right that we remember and never forget what happened on july 1983.

other bloggers have written about this yesterday and today. mostly in the form of personal recollections but with some reflections, more or less, on broader concerns (i have written about my personal experiences of 83 somewhere else sometime ago, i may write more fully again in the future).

however i have several moral concerns about how we write about it and our motives. because i believe that most of the writers had the best motives, i am not accusing anyone, but i will point out what i consider wrong and should be avoided when writing and reflecting about 83. readers and writers can read the articles and posts concerned and others of similar ilk, and judge for themselves. (all these judgments of mine are of course, as with all moral judgments, completely subjective. while i consider them wrong that does not mean i am urging bans on people who express them, rather i am pointing out why i find them morally unacceptable)

-
when we write about july '83 (or anything else for that matter),

1/
we should not indulge in generalizations, such as, "sinhalese" did that or "tamils" this etc etc. people who do that are racists and only marginally different from racist rioters who attacked innocents. if we accuse, we should be specific; either naming people and/or their specific actions. for instance it is wrong and racist to accuse "sinhalese" in general, for '83.

2/
we should not exaggerate, either to increase the emotional impact of suffering or to ... boast ( i think that is the right word, tough i gave it some thought before using it ) about "good deeds". it is completely ok to describe suffering, and write about people acting with common humanity and helping others. but please do not exaggerate. exaggerations unless done by a great creative artist, are not hard to detect.

3/
do not speculate about "lessons for people" and other such nebulous stuff.
major point brought up when people reflect on '83 is about what majority of people "learn" (or did not learn ) by it. such questions are by nature unfocused, superficial, and unanswerable, and do not contribute to rational discussion. writers who ask this then generally tend to go on a tangent and indulge in unfounded speculations. "people" is a big word ,do not speculate about people's knowledge or actions because they are by definition unknowable. instead give your opinion after clearly indicating it as such. in doing so stick to facts if you can, and in this case observe what happened when similar preconditions for july 83 prevailed later.

4/
finally do not commit the major error of believing and implying in those writings, that ltte terrorism resulted from july '83 or that it was a major contributing factor in intensification of that terrorism.

that is false causality.

atrocities of ltte do not necessarily flow ( as some believe) from grievances of its members even if some of them have suffered grievously during 83. (imo what happened was that some criminals without any moral base used 83 as excuse to join ltte and ltte used 83 as a propaganda justification for its crimes).

to believe such a lie is a grave injustice to all those who have suffered and did not take out their anger on innocents. do people take out their fury on others unjustly? yes (this is not limited to ltte cadres) .but they are doing so by their own free will and as such are criminals no matter what they suffered. (to put it in another way, poverty is no excuse for theft.).

people choose to kill and commit other crimes. imo we are human beings because we have free will. (if you do not believe in free will and think human beings to be automations reacting blindly to events, you should ask yourself why you are writing about july '83 on the first place, beacuse by such reasoning everything, including riots, were inevitable).

killings of 13 soldiers by ltte is not an acceptable excuse for rioting. killings of innocents and other crimes on july '83 by rioters is not an excuse for joining ltte.

individuals who commit crimes (either rioting , joining ltte, or stealing, etc) giving some grievances or other ( real or fake ) as an excuse, would have committed those crime or something similar anyway; by choosing to commit crimes they betray their lack of a moral base for making such decisions, nothing more.

-
ps.
additionally some people have reflected about indifference (or not) of majority of people in '83. that too is a generalization, but if applied to specific individuals it is a valid question.

in this regard it is more relevant to ask such questions about the present. we should all ask from ourselves as individuals what we are doing, now, about the existence of criminal ltte (which is incompatible with principles of human rights, justice, peace, and democracy, as the existence of criminal rioters on the streets was). are we willing to appease ltte and sacrifice fellow sri lankans to ltte terrorist pussies' mercy, and be indifferent to their suffering to get a (unsustainable) "peace", that does not respect human rights, justice, peace, and democracy? what makes that diffrent from being indifferent in 83 ?

ngo peacenik criminals, that is people like paikiasothy saravanamuttu, jehan perera, jayadeva uyangoda, sunila abeysekera, sunanda deshapriya, sunila abeysekera, nimalka fernando, rohan edirisinha, jeevan thiagarajaha, and their ilk (and their underlings like sanjana hattotuwa), some of the most vocal commemorators of '83 have indicated by their actions that they willing to be "indifferent" to others' suffering in order to appease ltte, as some politicians in 83 government were indifferent to sufferings of victims to appease the rioters. once again peacenik prove themselves to be professional hypocrites.

anyway are you indifferent now?

peacenik supported terrorists pussies, murder innocents again

as repeated several times in this blog, criminal thugs of the ltte will continue to kill as long as they exist ( as happened today). these killings and bombings happened before and during so called ceasefire (from day one), it is happening now, and will continue.

there will not be peace as long as they exist. there will not be respect for human rights , justice, democracy, or freedom, as long as they exist.

only corrupt, hypocritical, and criminal, (or in case of a few, plain stupid and extremely naive) peaceniks will believe otherwise. only racists (including almost all peaceniks ) believe ltte represents tamils, instead of being a despicable armed criminal gang.

any honest, rational, and pragmatic, examination of the ltte terrorist behavior, history, and situation, makes it clear that there is only one course open to sri lankans who want human rights, justice, democracy, and freedom, to prevail (and to live) ; try to defeat ltte terrorists ( in the sense of reducing their power to control sri lankans, if not total elimination) using legitimate violence if need be .

-
by peaceniks i mean people who believe "peace" is worth any cost, even cost of human rights , justice, democracy, or freedom. specifically human right violating criminals like paikiasothy saravanamuttu, jehan perera, jayadeva uyangoda, sunila abeysekera, sunanda deshapriya, sunila abeysekera, nimalka fernando, rohan edirisinha, jeevan thiagarajaha, and their ilk (and their underlings like sanjana hattotuwa).

human right violating criminal monitors of cmev

several racist peacenik criminals and their ngos are supposedly "monitoring" the election under the label center for monitoring election violence (cmev). what can be more laughable?

the ngos involved with cmev are centre for policy alternatives (cpa), the free media movement (fmm), and inform human rights documentation centre.

lets look at some of the few things they have done to violate human and democratic rights sri lankans living in east .

these individuals and ngos opposed getting rid of ltte terrorists from east. and in fact advocated extending ltte's oppressive control of east as an effort at appeasement of terrorists.

they accepted and advocated accepting of ltte's murderous (literally) claim to be sole representative of tamils which is completely racist and undemocratic.

even though they claim to stand up for human rights and freedom of expression they have not stood up for human rights and freedom of expression of people under ltte oppression, or under threat from ltte.

they have never asked that gosl use its resources to bring ltte criminals to justice and stop the culture of impunity enjoyed by ltte .

when did criminal ass licker paikiasothy saravanamuttu, and cpa ask that gosl defeat the human right violating ltte and bring their leader to justice? or question the illegality of the ltte puppet tna mps elections ( where some of them got 90+% of the vote )? or unreservedly denounce the brutal preventing of people's right to vote in 2004 election? never.

when did so called free media movement and racists like sunanda deshapriya, stood up for freedom of expression of people under ltte? never! they in fact kept on supporting ltte terrorists' controls on media and had warm (perhaps even corrupt) personal relations with murderers like roasted smiling pussy and balasingham

the ngo inform ( in the person of sunila abeysekera) in conjunction with cpa were acting as straight ltte propaganda parrots when they passed off a dbs jeyaraj written (as is with him these days sourced with outright falsehoods from ltte terrorist spin office) report as results of a fact finding mission, after the small trinco riot on april 2006. detailed examination of plagiarism ( not that hard to detect this, since whole passages were copied word for word, see the post ) and bias of that report by me, initiated hysterical attacks on me by likes of peacenik underling sanjana hattotuwa conneted with cpa (who then ran since deleted moju blog) and presently run groundviews blog where dissenting opinions and corrections of facts are still arbitrarily censored.

given this history, any sensible sri lankan will know what to expect from seetha ranjani, udaya kalupathirana, and paikiasothy saravanamuttu, convener of cmev.

in fact this morning cmev propagated the easily verifiable falsehood that mobile phones will be shut off in east ( this is very similar to the false, and again easily verifiable as such, report fmm progated in januaray 2007. in conjunction with indi padashow's father) expect more such idiotic and murderous terrorist propaganda parroting from cmev in their efforts dig deep into the terrorist ass with their tongue, hand, and keyboards.

election results for eastern province

you will find online results of the eastern provincial council elections at department of elections site.

so far 60% + voter turnout. regardless of who wins, that turnout itself is a defeat for terrorists and their peacenik parrots.

more on so called cmev election monitors soon.

why murderous terrorists and their peacenik helpers should be defeated

once again by assassination of minister jeyaraj fernandopulle and several others, ltte terrorist pussies showed why they do not deserves any breathing room in any civilized society where justice, human rights, freedom, and democracy, are respected.

only terrorist ass licking peaceniks think otherwise. these racist peacenik criminals like paikiasothy saravanamuttu, jehan perera, jayadeva uyangoda, sunila abeysekera, sunanda deshapriya, sunila abeysekera, nimalka fernando, rohan edirisinha, jeevan thiagarajaha, and their ilk (and their underlings like sanjana hattotuwa, as well as certain hypocrites in the sri lankan blogosphere) hate straight talk and nothing makes them happier than murder of democratic politicians from minority communities, who do not support ltte (reasons why they reserved a special hatred for minister jeyaraj).

on behalf of terrorist murderers above mentioned terrorist parroting peaceniks continue to advocate that sri lanka should be punished and sanctioned. it does not matter to them that sri lanka is fighting against ltte pussies through all legitimate methods in order to defend the right to lives, human rights, freedom, democracy and justice, of sri lankans. without a shred of evidence or based on isolated actions of a few criminals or absurd conspiracy theories, they slander sri lankans and in particular sri lankan military as a whole in truly racist fashion.

both the terrorists and their peacenik friends must be defeated. there is no other choice for any moral or pragmatic sri lankan.
