They start off with a quite diplomatic tone of "We have on several occasions verbally informed you to refrain from boarding Sri Lankan Naval vessels" and ends with a straight forward warning of "Please take this as the last warning to you to not board Sri Lankan Naval vessels".

Now, how will the International Community react to this I wonder or will they wait till the "Pro-LTTE NGOs" neutralise it for LTTE?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13644607.post-1147668097500134452006-05-15T10:11:00.000+05:302006-05-15T10:11:00.000+05:30LTTE know nothing but death. Secure supply routes - getting some form of legitimacy to move its formations in the sea or keep SLN at bay on the East coast whilst cutting off state's sea based supply line.

2. Eliminate third parties such as NGOs who are working in N&E [the shelf life of the NGO's have expired as far as the LTTE is concerned]. This also provides a major role for the TRO as well as setting up other "fronts" for humanitarian work.

3. Launch a major terrorist attack , a blitz, to secure more territory and extend the "controlled area" demarcation. If such an attack leads to communcal disharmony it is a bonus. LTTE is keeping the options open.

4. Take part in "discussions " after achieving a significant advancement.

Its method is to keep harrasing the troops and the state , never allowing it to rest, getting them used to live with the continous attacks.

LTTE is in the offensive - intensity is low- for the time being.

The coming weeks could see :

1. LTTE vs SLMM
2. State vs LTTE
3. LTTE snubbing the "IC" as well as the "Civil Society" pundits/experts. eg Akashi

confrontations.

There is no armed group in the world who wanted peace whilst carrying weapons, having areas under its control which were being fed and maintained by the enemy, (the SL state in this case.)

Sooner or later, at the right time, the state will have to respond by taking the fight against the terrorists to their own backyard.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13644607.post-1147439475690800052006-05-12T18:41:00.000+05:302006-05-12T18:41:00.000+05:30Well said!!Well said!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
